I en handlingsplan gennemgår IoD – Institute of Directors, hvad de ser som vigtigst på dagsordenen omkring god selskabsledelse. ”The IoD’s recommended basic principles for corporate governance policy: 1 Promote a longer-term investment approach from investors in public companies, following the Kay Review and the establishment of the Investor forum 2 Encourage governance best practice amongst SMEs while eschewing the imposition of greater regulatory and compliance burdens on non-listed companies 3 Encourage Government to consider the principle of incentivising a longer-term approach to executive pay and shareholder behaviour. This may include utilising the tax and regulatory system as a means of shaping the right incentives 4 Attach greater importance to the issue of director training and board evaluation processes 5 Shine the light on the boardroom appointment process as a means of improving board performance and diversity, with a particular emphasis on greater transparency, public advertising of board level positions and a more formal approach to director recruitment.
