Vestas Wind Systems A/S, Knauf Insulation GmbH, First Solar Inc., and other renewable energy and energy efficiency companies hailed a European Parliament vote setting a 2030 renewables target for the European Union as a boost to their business.
European Parliament lawmakers meeting Nov. 13 in Strasbourg, France, voted 495-68, with 61 abstentions, in favor of a binding target for the EU to meet 32 percent of its energy needs in 2030 from renewable sources.
