Vaccinated persons are substantially less likely to become super spreaders
A new study on the Israel case has found that viral loads in vaccinated persons is significantly decreased and they are therefore much less likely to shed the virus. On the downside, this means vaccinated persons are still able to become carriers.
On the news.
A preprint study of vaccinations in Israel (using Pfizer-vaccines) shows that a Covid-19 positive, vaccinated person carries 5%-62,5% of the viral load an unvaccinated person would carry. This means, less severe ilness and that transmisability of Covid-19 in a vaccinated individual is significantly decreased. As the authors put it: “Taken together, our findings indicate vaccination is not only important for individual’s protection but can reduce transmission.”
