BTC volatilities picking up some steam, but we are far from exuberant BTC volatility behavior.

ETH with a similar schoolbook break out continuation move. Chart 2 shows ETH volatility picking up. Note that ETH volatility has been much more mean reverting compared to the BTC volatility reset this year.

Nailing it

Standard Chartered have been nailing the BTC bull, over and over. Gentle reminder of what they pointed out in early July, in case you missed our BTC break out note from back then:

1. ETF inflows and corporate treasury buying of BTC are set to exceed the Q2 level (245k BTC) in Q3 and Q4.

2. Potential Q3 drivers include Fed Chair Powell’s early replacement and passage of the US stablecoin bill.

3. In Q4, we expect the market to brush off concerns about the BTC halving cycle.

4. We continue to see BTC rising to around USD 135,000 by end-Q3 and to USD 200,000 by end-Q4.
