Students this week in Hong Kong have launched a five-day boycott of classes in support for greater democracy in the Chinese special administrative region. The students are protesting a recent move by Beijing to require any future leaders of the city to be vetted by Chinese authorities, undermining hopes for full democracy in the former British colony. The boycotts kicked off today.
